Teen Platform Bolt.com Shows 20% of Staff to the Door 
NEW YORK (VENTUREWIRE) -- Bolt.com, a communications platform for
teenagers 
with member-created content, said it has laid off 35 employees, or 20% of 
its staff, from various departments on Feb. 15. Bolt.com CEO Dan Pelson
said 
the move was "simply prudent business to scale back on some less critical 
elements." Bolt.com has received an undisclosed amount of venture
financing 
from America Online, Bechtel Enterprises, Comcast Interactive, Entercom 
Communications, Ford Motor, Highland Capital, Moore Capital, Oak
Investment 
Partners, Sandler Capital Management, and Time Warner.
