Panel Discussion:
Until recently, it "seemed" that venture capital was easily available to
anyone with an interesting idea and a powerpoint presentation. That
feeding
frenzy certainly changed in March 2000. Today, for some start-ups, it is
considerably more difficult to raise venture capital.
"What Venture Capitalists are Looking for in the Current Market" aims to
help entrepreneurs understand the current state of the venture capital
market and the critical factors venture investors are presently looking
for
in deciding to fund a new company. A panel representing some of New York's

top venture capital firms will discuss what it takes to raise capital in
this new environment.

Venture Capitalist Panel:
Moderator: Ari Ginsberg, Director, Berkley Center for Entrepreneurial
Studies and Harold Price Professor of Entrepreneurship at NYU Stern.

Ross Goldstein: Ross is a Managing Partner and co-Founder of Draper Fisher

Jurvetson Gotham Ventures based in New York City.

Bob Greene: Bob is a Managing Partner at Flatiron Partners based in New
York
City. Bob received his MBA from MIT Sloan School.

Paul Jacobson: Paul is one of the founding partners at StartingPoint
Venture Partners, an early-stage venture capital fund based in New York
City.

John Mahoney: John is the co-Head of GSVentures, a venture arm within
Goldman Sachs focused on early-stage financial services related companies.

John received a M.M. from MIT Sloan School of Management.

David Shrier: David is a Director of i-Hatch Ventures, an East
Coast-focused early-stage VC fund based in New York City. David is on the
Board of the MIT Enterprise Forum of New York City.
