Vignette Spinoff SoloMio Gets $6 Million First Round

AUSTIN (VENTUREWIRE) -- Vignette, a publicly traded e-business software
developer, announced that it spun off SoloMio in December, 2000 as an
independent company. Vignette also announced that SoloMio, a software firm
developing data-enhanced voice applications for wireless operators,
completed its first round of financing at $6 million led by Austin
Ventures. Vignette also participated in the round. SoloMio said the money
would be used for product development and marketing its product in the
European market. John Thornton of Austin Ventures and Bill Daniel of
Vignette will take seats on SoloMio's board of directors as part of the
financing deal. SoloMio was founded by a former senior vice president at
Vignette, Richard Schwartz.
