YellowBrix Hands Pink Slips to About 25% of Staff

AttachmentALEXANDRIA, Va. (VENTUREWIRE) -- YellowBrix, which provides
content infrastructure services, said approximately 50 to 60 employees
have been laid off since the company began restructuring in December 2000.
The most recent round of layoffs occurred last week following the
promotion of chief financial officer S. Randy Lampert to the position of
chief executive officer. A company spokeswoman said the company is
re-examining and adjusting its core offerings in response to market
conditions. While the layoffs affected all departments, the sales and
marketing divisions were the most affected, said the spokeswoman.
YellowBrix, which has filed for an initial public offering, had
approximately 198 employees prior to the layoffs. YellowBrix is backed by
ABN AMRO Private Equity, Holland Ventures, and Prime Technology Ventures.
