Web Syndicate Tech Firm iSyndicate Lays Off Half of Staff
SAN FRANCISCO (VENTUREWIRE) -- iSyndicate, a provider of Internet
syndication infrastructure and application technology, said it has laid
off
half of its domestic staff, approximately 85 employees. Jeff Thomas, vice
president of marketing, said the company made the layoffs across the board
in order to focus more on the company's technology side while controlling
costs. The company made an undisclosed number of layoffs after it acquired
Kurion and nFactory in February. Mr. Thomas said the latest layoffs did
not
affect staff in its offices in France, Germany, Moroco, and the U.K. The
company would not relase its number of international employees.
iSyndicate's
investors include Bertelsmann, Chase Hambrecht & Quist, Infospace.com,
Labrador Ventures, Microsoft, News Corp., Scripps Ventures, and Vignette.
