Vindigo Signs Up Tribune Interactive

 by Dakota Smith

Alley-based Vindigo has signed a deal with Chicago-based Tribune
Interactive to farm out reviews from the media company's websites to
Vindigo users via Palm products.

The Tribune Interactive-owned Latimes.com, Sun-Sentinel, and
Metromix.com (Chicago Tribune's entertainment guide) sites will offer
movie reviews, restaurant listings, shopping guides, and the like via
Vindigo for their respective markets.

The deal is only for the papers' Web content; for instance, reviews
appearing in the paper edition of the Los Angeles Times will not
appear on Vindigo.

The deal expands Vindigo's publishing reach. Already the company,
launched only this past March, has signed up Zagat.com, SF Gate (the
online companion to the San Francisco Chronicle), washingtonpost.com,
and NYToday.com.

"Great content and a phenomenal brand," said Harley Ungar, marketing
manager at Vindigo of why Vindigo chose Tribune Interactive. Ungar
added the company is in discussions to work with other publishing and
web properties to deliver wireless content.

"We are thrilled to work with a number of different companies," said
Ungar. "We are essentially a publishing company so we are talking to
lots of different media companies, and we have gotten to the
situation where media players are coming to us."
